Religious Trauma Recovery

Religious trauma isn’t just about leaving a faith community. It’s the deep, often hidden wounds left behind when belief systems, leaders, or spiritual structures have caused harm. For many, these wounds show up as anxiety, guilt, shame, self-doubt, or fear of punishment – even long after stepping away from the community or beliefs that instilled them.

Recovering from religious trauma is a journey of gently untangling what was taught from what is true for you now. It often means examining the narratives that shaped your self-worth, learning to trust your intuition again, and finding ways to connect with spirituality (or not) on your own terms. This process isn’t about rejecting everything from your past; it’s about reclaiming your voice, agency, and belonging to yourself.

In coaching, I offer a safe space to process these experiences, explore what healing looks like for you, and build the tools needed to move forward with confidence and peace. Religious trauma recovery is possible – not just to survive what happened, but to truly flourish beyond it.
